Nettlecombe is a civil parish in the English county of Somerset. The parish covers a rural area below the Brendon Hills, comprising the small hamlets of Woodford, Yarde and Torre together with more isolated individual farms and homes. In 2011, the parish had a population of 174.〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】 url = http://www.thelocalchannel.co.uk/nettlecombe/home.aspx )〕 The village takes its name from Nettlecombe Court, an Elizabethan manor house which was once the manorial centre of the area.〔 There are no shops or other services within the parish, which is instead served by the nearby village of Williton.〔 ==History== The manor was held before the Norman Conquest by Godwin, son of King Harold, and subsequently was the property of the crown. In 1160 it was granted to Hugh de Ralph and has never been sold since. It passed down through the family to John Trevelyan in 1481 and is still held by his successors. The parish of Nettlecombe was part of the Williton and Freemanners Hundred.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/SOM/Miscellaneous/ )〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Nettlecombe, Somerset」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
